Bicycles
Bicycles must be securely packed. Special boxes and bags are obtainable from bicycle outlets and associations. Please make use of this type of packaging as it prevents your bicycle from possible damage. Air Namibia will not take liability for damages of bicycles if they are not securely packed in the special boxes or bags. Kindly ensure that the box or bag is clearly marked with your contact details.
Handlebars must be turned parallel with the frame, pedals removed or turned inward, tires deflated and the seat must be put down. All electronic equipment must be removed and transported separately. Please note also that the carriage of bicycle tyres in the overhead compartment of the aircraft will not be allowed as the tyres do not meet the minimum size requirements and this may cause damage to both the aircraft and the bicycle equipment.

Packing Golf Equipment
We will accept golfing equipment as checked baggage providing it does not exceed the maximum dimensions and weight restrictions*.
- Golfing equipment will only be accepted if it is packed appropriately in a recognised bag or case to safeguard against damage.
- If the total number of checked bags is more than your free checked allowance, you will need to pay extra bag charges.
- A large golfing umbrella or parasol counts as one item of baggage.
Maximum size: 190cm x 75cm x 65cm (75in x 29.5in x 25.5in).

Weapons used for sport or hunting must be declared and are then only charged PER riffle. Packing Firearms and ammunition
- Firearms and/or ammunition will be accepted provided they are packed in an appropriate carriage case.
- Firearms and ammunition are not allowed in hold luggage with general personal possessions.
- All firearms have to be packed separately from the ammunition and must be in a locked firearms case.
- The ammunition must be separate and in its own locked bag/container of not more than 5 kg (10 lbs).
In these instances you will not be charged for the extra bag(s) but will be subject to the appropriate handling fee(s). Preparing firearms for travel
- Each firearm carried must be accompanied by the appropriate firearms certificate.
- The firearm must be unloaded.
- Ammunition must be packed in either its original packaging or in a suitable container that prevents movement between shells or cartridges, i.e. loose ammunition is not permitted.
- Bags with ammunition must not bear ‘explosives’ labels.

- if you are travelling with skis and ski boots you should pack them in one of the following ways:
- pack your skis and ski boots separately
- pack your ski boots within your checked baggage
